Swatches & Review: OPI Nail Envy Strength in Color Collection

Description of Photo

The fortifying power of OPI’s Original Nail Envy Nail Strengthener combined with softly tinted color in four must-have OPI shades. Now, the trusted formula you love—from the world’s number one salon brand, OPI—has added delicate, feminine color for the very first time. Infused with hydrolyzed wheat protein and calcium, the new Nail Envy Strength in Color Collection delivers maximum strengthening aid to transform weak, damaged nails into longer, stronger, harder nails shining with bold, true-to-bottle color.

Inspired by of-the-moment creamsicle hued and pink quartz spring runway looks, this first-of-its-kind collection includes classic OPI favorite shades like Hawaiian Orchid, Samoan Sand, and Bubble Bath, plus a Nail Envy-only exclusive offering, Pink to Envy. Simply apply this innovative two-in-one nail strengthener plus color lacquer directly onto nails to add some much needed muscle to your manicure.

Samoan Sand | A light sandy tan creme from the OPI Original collection. I can definitely see why this is a fan-favourite. In fact, this entire collection comprises of the classics amped up with Nail Envy formulation. This was 3 coats of Samoan Sand.

Bubble Bath | Of the four shades in this collection, this one is my favourite. I never got around to trying Bubble Bath from the regular OPI collection, but now that I've seen it I am a huge fan. I love how this shade is subtle yet noticeable and is not super sheer like most baby pinks are. This was 3 coats of Bubble Bath.

Pink to Envy | This one is a translucent (almost transparent) baby pink clear coat. I don't really see a point to painting your nails with this shade, but I guess it does add some nice shine to a natural nail. If you have nice nails to begin with, this would be a great polish to invest in if you wanted just a tinge of pink and extra shine. Although... A top coat basically does the same thing. This was 3 coats of Pink to Envy.

Hawaiian Orchid | The most pigmented of the bunch, this is a dusty rose creme on the blue-toned side of the spectrum. I had no complaints about this one! Another gorgeous and subtle shade to add to the work-appropriate arsenal.

Pros:
  • Excellent and consistent formulation
  • Good pigmentation
  • Flattering neutral shades for any occasion
Cons:
  • Brush bristles in the Hawaiian Orchid I received were bent out of shape
Overall, I'm pretty impressed with these revamped classics. They just make the classics that much better! I hope OPI re-formulates more shades with this Nail Envy goodness. You can find the Nail Envy Strength in Color Collection in stores and salons now for $22.50CAD.
