Today I have another product from the Born Pretty Store to share. When I first received these tiny pearl studs, I automatically thought of the underwater, mermaid-esque (take me back to artRAVE!!!) theme with cool-toned pastels and glitter. I've been meaning to try the watercolour technique so thought this would be the perfect design to test it out.
I started off with a base of white and dried it with a coat of Seche Vite. This step is especially important for the watercolour technique as the top coat protects the white base from being eaten away by the remover. I then put drops of polish on a glass dish and mixed in some nail polish remover with a brush. I then applied the watered-down nail polish to the nail in splotches and went over messily with some more remover to create a really thin wash of colour. I repeated the process filling in blank spaces until I was satisfied with the design. Finishing off, I applied a thin coat of gold glitter top coat and a pearl stud on my ring finger.
I'm really happy with how this nail art design turned out and love the simplicity of the watercolour technique. The pearl stud really screams summertime beach shenanigans and I love how it just adds something special to the manicure.
You can purchase these pearl studs in 4mm from the Born Pretty Store here. As always, be sure to use the coupon code BAOQ10 to receive 10% off your entire order.
