I don't think there is ever a wrong time for a polka dot. - Marc Jacobs

Polka dots are one of my guilty pleasures (gasp). I know there are many people out there who would not agree, but I think polka dots are great. Maybe the fact that they're so uniform and cute? Or maybe the fact that I'm a 10-year-old girl at heart? I have no idea.

Anyway, today I'm reviewing this stamping plate and scraper set from the Born Pretty Store. The plate comes with 14 full nail patterns and 8 individual icons on a plastic-backed metal sheet. I really like the convenience of having all these essential designs on one plate. The stamper and scraper are similar to the true Konad ones, but Born Pretty Store's scraper is not as precise.

I started off with a base of 4 In the Morning (my favourite black polish lately). After that dried to its satin finish, I stamped on the polka dot pattern with NOPI Positive Energy. For this step, I chose a more fluid, thicker metallic polish rather than a flaky metallic because they work better with stamp transferring.

The scraper did not scrape the polish off the plate very cleanly, but after a few scrapes it started to look cleaner. You can still see some mishaps but they're not too bad. I finished off by cleaning up around my cuticles and did not use topcoat to preserve the satin finish of both polishes.

Overall, I really like the variety of classic designs offered on this stamping plate and found these products pretty easy to use even for beginners. Check out the Born Pretty Store for more nail art products like this one and be sure to use the code BAOQ10 to receive 10% off your order!
