It's a Man's World

Of all the hundreds of posts that I aimlessly scroll past while perusing tumblr, a select few actually resonate with me. Whether it be an inspiring quote or a great graphic, it usually takes a lot for me to stop and read something. Upon surfing the other day, I came across a very valid question posed to a style blog that I follow. The reader asked how to rock menswear-esque outfits without losing femininity. I thought this was very applicable as I have been experimenting more and more with boxier cuts and loose-fits. The author's answer was such that one should not be afraid to style menswear inspired pieces so long as one accessorizes and puts a smidge more effort into their hair and makeup. For whatever reason, this simple and seemingly obvious answer was the primary inspiration behind this outfit.

Another hit of motivation was this sleek Casio A158WA-1 watch that I received out of the blue from my good friend, Eric (check out his portfolio here). I have been lemming one of these for the longest time, but could never bring myself to step foot in American Apparel or Urban Outfitters to actually purchase one. The timeless chrome with the modern digital face is minimalism at its best. Who doesn't love unexpected gifts?
